" Looks---
With big brown eyes and long chestnut hair, it’s easy to say Belle was born a beauty just like her name suggests. Her face is a pretty heart shape and her skin a pale white with a touch of peach giving it overall a healthy glow, growing to only five foot 3 in height however Belle’s mother used to say she exchanged her height for her looks and that she probably wouldn’t grow any taller. Not that Belle minded she didn’t really care for how tall or short person was, she wasn’t self conscious either.
History---
Belle was born to Vivian Donaldson a small time artist and Richard Lancaster a Stanford professor on a cold December day. The family had a happy family life but Belle was a sickly child and her first few months were spent in a hospital cradle with about ten different tubes in her. The doctors told Vivian and Richard it was meningitis and that they’d be lucky if there darling daughter lived till Easter, Vivian prepared for the worst but Richard didn’t give up hope and would visit his baby girl every free period or every after hour he got, while she was in the hospital he’d always read to her. Children’s tales of course; Dark stories of the north or wondrous tales from east.
It seemed miracles did happen and one day when Vivian and Richard came to visit they found that their bright baby daughter was on the mend. It was a miracle and the doctors couldn’t explain it (ever since that day Vivian turned to faith), they took her home the following week as the doctors wanted to keep Belle in for observations.
Once Belle was taken home, she began to flourish in her new environment, she was crawling and walking and growing at the steady pace a child of her age should have been, it was almost unbelievable that months earlier she was seriously ill. She grew up healthy and for that her parents were thankful, Belle was always an early learner and though she wasn’t particularly smart when it came to sciences or mathematics she seemed to excel in English and literacy. She loved reading she had from an early age ever since she could read for herself young Belle was always found with a book on her knee. Her parents were terribly proud of her after all what parents wouldn’t be proud of a literacy genius. Belle’s life was rainbows and cupcakes till one day her mother was involved in a terrible care accident.
Belle was only ten years old when her mother died. She’d gone for the usual Thursday night grocery shopping and was on her way home, but it had been snowing the night before and the roads were slippery due to ice and frost. Vivian lost control of the wheel and was instantly killed in a head on collision with a truck. Belle cried for days, she wouldn’t eat nor would she sleep as all she saw was her mother’s face, she even gave up reading for a while as she tried to cope with the grief of losing her beloved mother. Belle’s father however took the news the worst and would look himself up in his study for days at a time working on crazy theories and odd teaching methods. His work colleagues who grew tired of his eccentric behaviour labelled him as mad and it wasn’t long before Belle took over the role of parent at home, cleaning and cooking as her father fell further into his own senile eccentricity. Sadly soon after her father lost his job, and the two survived off his cleverly planned retirement fund, however they didn’t live comfortably. The fund only stretched enough to pay for the rent and food Belle had to take on to jobs to pay for extra things, which wasn’t entirely bad, she loved her job at the book store especially since she got a discount for a lot of her high school books she needed for literature classes. Her boss was kind man too and was like a friendly uncle to Belle.
When it was finally time for Belle to go to college she almost felt bad for leaving her dad behind, she wasn’t sure if he’d be able to cope. She was terrified he’d go too far with one of his inventions and though she’d always been supportive of him, she still worried. There were many a times at college in which she wanted to come home to look after him but her passion for literature always stopped her and urged her to continue with her course, so she could graduate and create a better life for herself and her future family.
Personality---
Overall Belle is a very thoughtful person, she’s supportive and somewhat gentle especially to those she cares about she’s good friend though normally most people find her behind a book. Ever the quiet one she’s polite and over all a friendly person. Some would argue however her heads in the clouds, she’s a dreamer over all and once she finishes college she wishes to travel the world and work on bestselling book. She’s sensitive but sensible; she cries at movies but tears terrible ones apart also her most favourite food in the world is cookie dough icecream the Ben and Jerry’s kind especially.
The down side to her personality however is her over cynical nature, she likes to speak her mind as well and hates decisions being made for her. She’s stubborn to and won’t take no for an answer and once she’s made up her mind to do something she’ll do it most of the time there’s no swaying her from the decision, she’s also slightly over confident she thinks she’s street wise were as in reality if something bad did happen to her she wouldn’t know how to handle the situation. She has temper if someone shouts at her she’ll shout back, though she wouldn’t ever hurt anyone she couldn’t take the guilt mentally and she couldn’t do it physically as honestly she has no strength whatsoever.
