some say i'm insane ,OTHERS SAY I'M DERANGED BUT THESE DAYS I WOULD RATHER DO NOTHING According to Sunny Dale Stoppable, he’d really been in love only twice. The first time was when he was growing up. He’d sworn he was in love with Christy Carlson-Romano; Ren from Even Stevens. He grew up on that show and always thought he was Lewis, but at the same time he didn’t want to be Lewis. Lewis had been Ren’s brother, not her boyfriend. Sunny wanted to be Ren’s boyfriend since he was little, but his mother always set him straight. ”Sunny, when you grow up you’ll find yourself a nice, wholesome girl that doesn’t have crazy dreams like that.” Well, first of all Mrs. Stoppable had been wrong on many levels. First, Sunny would never settle for a girl without aspirations. Girls with huge dreams were a huge turn on for Sunny because he was brought up the right way – to be a gentleman. Second, Sunny would never settle for a wholesome girl. His mother was wholesome. His mother was boring. Don’t get him wrong, he loved his mother. His mother was his mother but…..that didn’t change the fact that she was boring.
And finally, Sunny would never bring home mommy’s perfect idea of a girl because the second girl he ever loved, and the only tangible woman in his life that he ever really loved, was a potty-mouthed tom boy that didn’t care what she said or to whom. Sunny fell for the very girl that he never thought he would; he fell for the girl that had taken the place of Lauren Yellowtail (what a weird last name, he’d always thought) in his band, For The Win. He’d fallen for Kaeila Rebekah Chambers. There was no denying it, especially now, so there it was. It was weird though, because at first they’d just been two kids wanting to play music. Even when he’d been twenty-two and desperate for a new singer, all Sunny had wanted to do was play music and make people happy. Kae had come into his life and turned everything around. Well, most things, but not everything all at once. She’d been brash and brutally honest and….Sunny liked that. She’d been one of the guys, but still a girl in the sense that she did things her own way.
Of course, they’d been at each other’s throats multiple times. Sunny could be argumentative and stubborn at times, even annoyingly naïve at twenty-two (especially for a twenty-two year old) when they’d first met. Kae, on the other hand, had been extremely stubborn, and she had a horrible mouth and always had to be right. Their heads butted a few times, to say the least. Still, they grew into being mutual friends. Their differences set aside, they got along extremely well. So well that even the most offensive pokes at each other now meant that they were having fun. They were so close that no one could tear them apart. They were like….peanut butter and jelly, but if you asked Kae, that kind of comparison was just too cheesy. Not-So-Surprisingly, Sunny thought the same way. Sunny saw them as being closer than PB&J. After all, they joked about Nuns being un-nunnified because of Kae’s mouth and how Kae had gotten so drunk at a party once that Sunny had to stand next to her and make sure she wouldn’t fall over the invisible stairs that didn’t actually exist beneath her feet. That was just…how together they’d been without even really being together, if that made any sense at all.
And then things had gotten a little deeper. Things got heavy. It was weird because Sunny wasn’t the type of kid that you would think would feel the way he did. He used to be immature and a jokester almost all of the time. He was usually sarcastic, but not as harsh as Kae could be in her sarcasm, and he wasn’t the type of kid that took too many things outside of helping people through music seriously. The most responsibilities he had then were to make sure he took at least a few showers while on tour, to wash some of his clothing on tour so he wouldn’t have to wear the same things over and over again, and to be the designated driver. Sure, Sunny liked to drink but he never got so drunk that he couldn’t drive. He was responsible for carting his friends to and from parties, especially Kae after she’d pretty much walked into his life. After that, he was responsible for keeping her on her feet too – even though there were times that he slipped up. Those times usually ended with Sunny freaking out in the waiting room at LA General Hospital while Kae was upstairs with a possible concussion. Most of the time, she was fine. She’d just fallen because Sunny had let her go.
And that was it. From one of the very last times that he had let that happen, Sunny never let her go. He didn’t let her go when she thought about maybe leaving the band to party all the time (maybe that was just a dream he had…or rather a nightmare). He didn’t let her go when his feelings for her grew without his intent, and he knew he couldn’t tell her unless he knew she felt the same way. She would have killed him dead if he did that, and Sunny knew it all too well. He didn’t let her go when he finally did tell her. He didn’t let her go that morning they woke up in each other’s arms and simply shrugged their cuddling off to eat some breakfast at Denny’s. Sunny couldn’t remember if he’d even held Kae’s hand that morning or not, but he thought he did. It was as much as he could show her without going too far for her standards. Either way, it had meant the world to him at that point. His feelings were so strong and so….suppressed because he didn’t know how to tell Kae.
Well, eventually it had happened. Sunny spilled his beans and (wow that sounded weird but) his feelings were out on the table. Obviously, that was the right decision to make. It might have been rash and possibly idiotic, but….if he hadn’t, he wouldn’t be where he was that day. He wouldn’t be a father, grown up as much as he could be while still retaining his childlike charm. He wouldn’t be married the girl no one ever thought would get married. He wouldn’t have eloped with said girl in Vegas the first chance they got. Sure it was a stupid move and they’d been young then, but still…..their choices then lead up to the beautiful birth of Austin Jordan Stoppable, the only person on the planet that Sunny loved as much as he loved Kae. Austin was his best friend right behind Kae; the three of them were a tag team that would never be torn apart. Sunny would never allow it; besides For The Win (which was yes, still around), Austin and Keaila were the most important possessions in his life. They meant the most to him, and he would never give either of them up…..not even for the band.
He didn’t think he’d have to though. His family was his band and Austin, although still extremely young, loved touring with his parents. The child would sit on the bus with his mom and dad and color little pictures of their family and….moments like those just meant everything to Sunny. Seeing how motherly Kae had gotten, still without compromising too much of herself that Sunny loved, meant more than sleeping in and dreaming longer to Sunny. Everything was so relative these days, and he liked it that way.
He wanted to keep this life just like this, forever and always.

I T ' S A C R A Z Y I D E A T H A T Y O U W E R Emade perfectly for me , Kae hadn’t ever expected life to take the turn it did. Honestly, the biggest thing the girl had expected to happen in her life was getting thrown in jail for some dumbass thing she did at a party. Or maybe even mouthing off to a cop after getting in trouble for disturbing the peace. Those things all seemed much more possible to the brunette than falling in love and getting married. Seriously? Those things were too girly for Kaeila. This girl was rough and tough, cursing like a sailor and drinking like a fish whenever possible. Everyone knew that Kae was not someone you wanted around your children, nor did you want your son or daughter to look up to. Corruption was inevitable when you hung around Kaeila Chambers, or so it seemed. Her drinking even seemed to come in the way of band practice quite a few times, and it wasn’t strange for her to ask if anyone else in the band wanted to blaze in the middle of a practice the day before a show. Life was all fun and games, and for it to be any other way was just stupid, in her eyes. You only live once!
Her unrealistic views on life were quickly halted. Well, they weren’t that unrealistic, but her mindset was flipped around pretty quickly. Kae joined a band hoping to fulfill her dream of living to the fullest and rocking out all over the world. What did it give her? Well, at first, a sinking feeling in her stomach. Why? She had a crush on someone. Yup, that’s right, Kaeila Chambers was developing a crush. On someone she didn’t like, to top it all off. Sunny had just seemed stupid to her, like he didn’t really know what was going on. And he was older than her! They did get along when the time called for it though, and Kae had to let down her protective barrier of hating his guts. Those were the times she felt her secret was most vulnerable, but they were also the times she felt she was having the most fun. It was so strange for her. Kaeila did not crush on people, people crushed on Kaeila. Well, she’d soon enough learned that someone actually was crushing on her. But that wasn’t before quite a few ups and downs. Life was always full of ups and downs though, and these turned out to be some of the best ones.
Kaeila didn’t expect to grow to call Sunny her best friend. But it happened, and they were always together, always partying, always just having tons of fun. Okay, so it wasn’t always fun. Like the times her drunken stupidity brought landed them in the emergency room, her in a bed and him anxiously sitting in the lobby. For once in her life, Kae was truly sorry for worrying someone so much. Unfortunately he never got her back for moments like that, because he was too goddamn careful for his own good. Actually, it was just careful enough. It was probably safe to say the brunette owed her life to that boy, but she wouldn’t admit it. At least not when it was relevant. He’d just saved her ass when she got stupid. That was how it was worded. Kae was not a softie in the least. Not then. Time wore on, he broke down her rigid exterior. Not to say the girl wouldn’t always be her abrasive, rough self, but she wasn’t like that to him. Not as she had been at first, at least. There came the time where Kaeila eventually admitted her feelings. Of course, to a drunken Sunny, but they were admitted nonetheless. And they’d woken up the next morning cuddling and things progressed from there. Soon it wasn’t so weird for her to want to hold his hand.
And then holding hands wasn’t so big. Their relationship was full of big leaps, especially the one where they went to Vegas. They were no longer just dating after that trip. Her last name also was no longer Chambers. Everyone had worried about how it would affect the band. Luckily, they could say it didn’t do anything to change them at all, except maybe add one or two more love songs to their repertoire. Though, there was that short hiatus they went on; Kae’s medical leave. You couldn’t quite blame her for it, at least not just her. Sunny, naturally, played just as big a part in her being pregnant. The birth of their son Austin was a big thing for everyone, though probably biggest for Kaeila herself for multiple reasons. Her drinking and partying decreased from the beginning of her relationship with Sunny, but learning she was pregnant caused almost a complete 180 in her personality. Okay, not quite, but it did instill quite a few changes in her. Partying wasn’t even a thought in her mind, and she was a bit easier to handle in every sense. Her vocabulary cleaned up a tiny bit (you can’t expect too much) and she just became a bit more in touch with her emotions. Kae wasn’t a rigid, uncaring person. She openly worried about friends, was openly excited about stupid little things. You could say she grew up.
Her focus would always be on the band, but it wasn’t her world anymore. Austin and, of course, Sunny were her main priorities, and if something happened with them, Kaeila would drop the band in a second. They understood it too. Your priorities shifted when you got older. It didn’t seem like any of that would happen though. Austin went on every tour with them, and everyone loved having him around. Even the fans. Kae couldn’t even count all the little gifts he’d gotten. It was the cutest thing ever. He was only two, but Austin loved to give hugs to fans and play with the toys he got. They littered his room at home, and he honestly played with as many of them as he could in a day. It was one of her biggest joys to just sit there and watch him color and play with all of his toys. If anything showed how much Kae matured, that did. And so did the fact that she had a kid, given the fact that she’d hated them.
Luckily it was one of their off times, and the family was spending time at their cozy house in Los Angeles. Well, of course they were at their house; it was the morning. Unfortunately. Kae had been up since about seven that morning, as Austin had decided he didn’t need to sleep any later. She wouldn’t let Sunny take him, even though the brunette was sure he didn’t even wake up when their son’s noises came over the baby monitor. Not that she expected anything else of her husband (it still made her smile to refer to him as that). Austin had been standing up, holding the bars of his crib and peering through when the girl arrived, prompting her to laugh just a little. It was an adorable sight. Kaeila picked him up, kissing him on the top of the head before bringing him into the kitchen to eat. Naturally, that was a huge mess. It always was. Once it was all done and everything (and everyone) was cleaned up, the two had gone into the living room so Kae could at least watch some tv while Austin played with his obscene amount of toys.
It was safe to say Kae was exhausted, but there was no way she’d go back to sleep. By now it was already 9:30, and sleeping her day away hadn’t been an option for quite a while now. Besides, Austin was still playing happily with all of his things and Sunny was sleeping peacefully in their room. That was fine by her though, because, to be honest, this was a perfectly acceptable way to spend her morning. And Sunny needed his sleep as much as she did, and it wouldn’t make sense for them both to be exhausted while their son was bouncing off the walls. it would definitely be better once he woke up though.

some say i'm insane ,OTHERS SAY I'M DERANGED BUT THESE DAYS I WOULD RATHER DO NOTHING Sometimes Sunny wished he didn’t sleep half as much as he did. His mom used to have to wake him up on weekends to be able to go out and play without sleeping the whole weekend away. His mother meant well even if it did take him years to figure that out. She didn’t want him to miss out on life, and sleeping from the time Friday ended to the time Monday began was just the way he was going to do that. He thought her waking him up was annoying then, but as he got older he realized how much he would have missed if she hadn’t. Now was one of those times he wished he didn’t sleep so much. There he was, happily dreaming about only God knows what while his wife was up taking care of their child. Really, Sunny wanted to be there to take care of it all. He didn’t want to seem like an over bearing father but….he wanted to be the kind of father that treated his kid like he was the price of the world and his wife like she was on the top of his world. In Sunny’s world, that’s exactly how things worked out. However, his world wasn’t always…physically possible, like when he was sleeping through the very events he wanted to be awake for.
Thankfully though, Sunny was always woken up by the sun. Yeah, that was extremely ironic, but if nothing else did, the sun woke him up. As soon as the sun was streaking through the bedroom window, Sunny’s face was scrunching up. It was nice that he was awake; he just didn’t like the light in his eyes thing as soon as he woke up. He made it through the irritation though and yawned, pushing his feet off the side of the bed without sitting up first. His head felt a little heavy, but he picked up and stretched his hands over his hair that he wasn’t even going to look at. Sure, most things in his and Kae’s lives had changed, but how he managed his hair definitely hadn’t. Sunny didn’t ever think he’d really care what his hair looked like; he’d just forever roll out of bed and let it do its thing. His boxers were securely fastened around his waist as he wiped his eyes and stood up, still squinting as he walked across the room. He picked up a shirt on his way out of the room and pulled it over his long frame, smiling once he got a glance of his family in the living room.
His family. His family. The feeling he got when that thought went through his head was just as powerful and emotional as it had the day that Kae and him and eloped in Vegas, as they day that Austin had been born. The feeling Sunny got when he thought that his family was right there for him was indescribable, but if he had to (and often he did in interviews and whatnot), he usually just simply stated that it was exactly what he wanted. Some musicians just want to fuck and go, get high or wasted and never look back. Some musicians just didn’t care and were in it for the money but…Sunny was in it to support what he had nowadays. Him and Kae were a team, and together they worked to raise their son the way they wanted to….and to be together. It made him so extremely happy to see his wife and his son waiting for him in such a way that he couldn’t even say. All he could do was smile. All he could do was be proud of what he’d worked for, of what him and Kae had worked for. Everything they’d built together that had meant anything at all was right there, in that small room in their home in California. Something like that had been intangible to Sunny one day, a long time ago, but there it all was.
Sunny moved to Kae and sat next to her on the couch. She looked kind of worn out, and it was only 9:30 in the morning. Still, he pulled her hand into his the way he did pretty much every morning and moved himself closer to his wife. Slowly, because he was still trying to fully wake up, he moved himself closer to Kae’s face until his lips met her cheek. He smiled again before backing up a bit, but the moved in to catch her lips. After she gave him a kiss back, Sunny finally pulled back and took the hand that had hers off, pushing it around her shoulders instead. With the other hand, he took her fingers and laced them through is long, extremely lanky ones. “Morning, beautiful.” Sunny couldn’t remember when he’d started calling Kae beautiful, but he didn’t care. It could have very well been that morning they woke up cuddling after a hard night of partying (for him, surprisingly), but it also could have been right after she told him she was pregnant. In any case, he called her that, and he meant it. There wasn’t much that Sunny said that he didn’t mean, but above all he meant that Kae was beautiful to him. “Hope I didn’t miss too much.”
He hated missing much. Sleeping was what caused him to miss what he did, but especially these days he hated that. He needed to be up and aware of what Austin was doing, and for lack of a better phrase he just wasn’t that day. But now he was up, so there was no business in thinking about not being up. Sunny pushed the thoughts to the very back of his mind and watched Austin for a few seconds that felt like minutes, maybe hours. The little blond boy looked almost too much like him to have come from Kae too, but most of the time he was a crazy little hell raiser. And that was definitely from Kae rather than Sunny himself. Still, that was a part of Kae that Sunny loved, and so when he saw it in Austin his whole life, forgetting his smile or his face, lit up. His train of thought broke, however, when Austin stood up and slowly, with a walk that needed practice, over to his parents. “Hey little man!” When did Sunny ultimately become a cheesy man like his father had been? Well, when Austin had been made a priority in his and Kae’s life. He couldn’t help it; that was the type of fathering he’d lived on through the time he turned eighteen and started the band.
Austin looked up at his dad, smiled that little nearly toothless smile that he was famous for sand said, “Daddy!” The boy had no idea what that did for Sunny, but one day he’d tell his son. One day, when Austin had his own children, Sunny would tell him exactly how he felt right then and there. But for now, he let his arms slip off of Kae and right down to Austin, pulling their sun up onto his lap. The little boy laughed and sat, but didn’t stop squirming. It was a cute squirm, like a little energetic kid at Christmas or Sunny on his birthday, not the type that needed immediate medical attention. Just then though, Sunny’s stomach growled. That was the first time that morning he’d thought about being hungry, but really he didn’t need to think about it. His stomach was fucking loud, to be honest. Austin laughed at the noise before Sunny picked him up while standing up. He turned around and held his hand out to Kae, making sure not to forget her – not that he could if he tried.
“I’m in the mood for nachos.”

I T ' S A C R A Z Y I D E A T H A T Y O U W E R Emade perfectly for me , It wasn’t a big deal for Kae to be watching Austin by herself. Sure, she was tired, but that was fine. These were the moments she knew she’d miss when their son got to the age where he wanted nothing to do with them. And just being with her child was something to cherish, because, honestly, if the brunette hadn’t changed, he wouldn’t have been born. Before Kae softened up, there was no way in hell she’d have had a child. Just waking up to babysit (hypothetically; the girl hadn’t even known anyone with kids), would have been way far out of the question. If someone woke her up and told her to take care of a kid, Kaeila would have laughed, told them to fuck off and gone back to sleep. Or she’d just have been annoyed and still not done it. Finding out she was pregnant would’ve been the end of the world. There was no way to reason with the girl; she would have told Sunny she was getting an abortion and that was final. Now, it hurt her heart just to think she was like that. Kaeila wouldn’t give up the little boy in front of her for the world. He was her world.
And even though Sunny was still sleeping, everything was absolutely fine. Kaeila didn’t mind Sunny sleeping, even if he did mind. There wasn’t a need for both of them to watch Austin, so if he was tired, he could sleep. It didn’t matter to her. Of course, if the little blondie was being unruly (a trait directly from and despised by his mother), it did take the two of them to make him settle down eventually. And as much as the two of them absolutely hated when he got like that, it was adorable. Just because he was a wonder, in her eyes at least. It almost made Kae happy her mother wasn’t around, because no one was trying to steal the boy away from her. Sure, her dad loved him, but grandmothers always loved their young grandchildren too much. All these people looking to have him for a little while would be too much for her. Tour was a good way to keep him all to herself though. And Sunny was there, which made it even better. Most people, even herself, to be honest, were surprised that the two could still be together and get along so well with how much they were together. They did have their arguments, like any married couple, but they got over them. They weren’t ever over anything too important.
Kae was content, and looked so, watching Austin, but as soon as she saw Sunny was up, a big smile appeared on her face. Their relationship seemed so cliché (one thing that was always so anti-Kae), but it was so perfect, in her opinion. To be able to just be in someone’s company and be completely content was so great, but so strange for her at the same time. It had always been that Kaeila needed to do something, needed to be somewhere at all times or else she was bored out of her skull. And for her to even be content there, she had to be drunk or high. It amazed her how easy it had been to change all that. Most people who were always drinking or something had an insane amount of trouble stopping. Then again, as lame as it sounded, there was Sunny there to keep her mind off of what she wasn’t doing. He was easy to talk to, definitely good for quite a few laughs, and he was sweet. That was a word Kae didn’t use ever. Well, until she started actually liking, and then falling for, Sunny. Of course, everything started changing then, and she couldn’t even stop it if she wanted to. It was all too good to be true though, and this was one thing Kaeila would try her hardest not to screw up.
To be honest, Kae absolutely loved to hold Sunny’s hand. It might seem small and insignificant, but that was it. It was so simple, but it meant so much. To her, at least. Was it supposed to be that way, or was she way too in love? She’d never actually felt like she was in love with anyone before Sunny. Her personality had kind of warded off anything that might be serious or otherwise close to love. Relationships, the few of them, had been more like flings. The kiss that landed on her cheek made her smile, as always, but it was nothing compared to when their lips met. Even the smallest of kisses still made her so happy. Maybe it was because everything was just so perfect in life. They had it all, so to speak. “Good morning,” she replied with a smile, resting her head on his shoulder and her hand snugly in his. “Well, you missed breakfast. I know how much you love that.” A grin crossed her lips, knowing neither of them particularly enjoyed it on any given day. It wasn’t terrible, but Austin always made a mess. It could’ve been because he was young, but it also could’ve been because he was a boy, and boys were always messy.
Her family had been more than surprised when they learned that she was in a relationship, but when she had a child, it seemed like everyone was in complete and utter shock. And to see she was actually a doting mother was even more shocking. It had just never seemed like her. Kae had been a bitch since kindergarten, when she stole the other kids’ toys. Naturally, that meant that was what she had to look forward to with Austin. It would be interesting, to say the least. Maybe he’d be like Sunny in that respect though, and actually be nice. Just a bit rambunctious like her. That would make his first school years easier on everyone. Though Kae knew she would still worry about him making friends and doing as well as the rest of the class. They would make sure he did well though. The first thing that needed help was his walking. The way he walked was adorable, but, of course, it needed practice. He was only two. Watching Sunny and their son interact was one of Kae’s favorite things to do. It was just too cute. She could only imagine how she’d feel once Austin was old enough and had his own kids. It would be insane.
As much as Kae disliked when Sunny let go of her at any time, it was perfectly okay right now, because it was for their son. Their adorable son with the cutest little smile. His small voice could always drag Kae from any other thought and make her focus on him. She watched as the boy sat on his father’s lap, too excited to sit still. It made her laugh to see him like that. The scene had to look so cute, but also a tad odd, too. Two rockstars, one of which who no one had suspected would ever settle down, and their child, sitting on the couch in their pajamas. It had to look cozy though. It was interrupted by the sound of Sunny’s stomach growling though, and it was amusing to everyone, especially Austin. Kaeila grinned yet again as the two men in her life got up, taking Sunny’s hand as it was offered and pulling herself up. She was a little hungry, but not as hungry as her husband. Though, she hadn’t really thought about food until she heard his stomach. “When aren’t you in the mood for nachos?” she pointed out, smiling.

some say i'm insane ,OTHERS SAY I'M DERANGED BUT THESE DAYS I WOULD RATHER DO NOTHING She had a good point. Sunny was literally almost always in the mood for nachos. He always had, a weird as that sounds. But Kae had accepted it, and Austin didn’t seem to mind. In fact, there had already been times that they’d gone out as a family and dined on the fine Hispanic snack as a meal, mostly because Sunny could be persuasive and, after years of being with Kae, knew how to convince her. It didn’t matter if it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner; Sunny was always in the mood for those crunch chips and their correlating cheese and salsa. Maybe there was sort of medical term for such a taste, but it didn’t matter to anyone living within the Stoppable household. There were always Tostito chips lying around, a can of microwaveable cheese and salsa in the fridge, and there was always a time to eat nachos as far as Sunny was convinced.
So that was that; he was going to have nachos for breakfast whether anyone else wanted them or not. It sounded selfish of him, but Sunny wasn’t concerned about that. He knew his wife and his son wouldn’t mind, so long as he didn’t make them join them in the nacho-eating festivities this early in the day. Actually, Austin might not mind but….Kae did say he already made him breakfast. If Sunny gave Austin chips this early, not only would the kid be off the walls in a matter minutes, but Sunny might get in trouble. Not like the trouble he used to get into with his mom over things he thought were stupid, but something that was stupid and – well it wouldn’t be anything serious and really, Sunny was just mentally blowing things out of proportion. His thoughts just needed to shut up so he could eat and get the day started, even if this wasn’t the healthiest choice of brain food to get his body in motion.
Leading the way into the kitchen, Sunny couldn’t help but smile. This was his picture perfect scenario, even if most of it was almost too cheesy for most people to handle. He had his family, his band, and his life right in one room almost completely, and in any state of mind that was all that mattered to Sunny. He turned to Kae and with that smile still on his face said, “That may be true but it’s because they’re the best food on the planet!” Of course, that was subjective to Sunny. He knew that, but still he held the statement as true as he could. Even when he was an old man, with no teeth of his own and hair that fell out like a dog’s, Sunny was positive he’d still eat nachos all the time. In fact, he knew he would. He’d find a way to sneak them in to those old people places that he knew he’d end up one day. After all, Sunny was no Noah from the Notebook, not that he’d ever admit to knowing what that meant. In any case, the point was that he knew he wouldn’t be able to always stay strong like Noah did; he was lanky and really just carried around a guitar for a living.
But this was now; he was only 27, and he was far from needing an old-person home. Kae was only a year younger than him and Austin was only 2; the biggest thing they had to worry about at that moment was keeping Austin out of as much trouble as they could avoid. That, and the clean up after breakfast with Austin. It seemed like Kae had already gotten through that though, so for now Sunny was just going to get some food for him self….unless Kae wanted some too. Ugh, he needed to stop thinking and just do. That was sometimes a problem for Sunny; he always thought ahead. Sometimes it got him into trouble, like when he’d told Kae she’d end up in a hospital while he was safe at home after a long night of partying hard. Well, then they hadn’t even been together, but still the point was still valid. He knew what he meant, so Sunny shut up his thoughts and looked at Kae again. He hadn’t realized he wasn’t looking at her anymore, but he turned his attention back to her as he headed over to the fridge. He put Austin down when he opened the door and looked inside.
“Want anything babe?” he asked. That was just a name he’d grown into calling Kae when he was focused on something else, and for the moment it was alright. His focus was aimed on pulling out the salsa and cheese from the fridge, then grabbing his chips off the top of the structure. His stomach growled again and that sent Austin into a semi-fit of two-year-old giggles, which had a huge smile across Sunny’s face again. That sound was so great; he’d never ever get tired of it, even if in a few years, Austin would grow out of it. In order to not think about that, Sunny popped the top off the cheese and stuck it into the microwave, hitting the minute mark and the start button so that the cheese would melt and become deliciously edible. He was so ready to eat that point he would have just eaten the cold cheese but….Sunny just liked hot cheese more. “I mean we could just share nachos. Might be fun!” Sometimes, this man was still just a boy.

I T ' S A C R A Z Y I D E A T H A T Y O U W E R Emade perfectly for me , Honestly, Kae didn’t even get tired of the little things that always stayed the same. That didn’t mean that there wasn’t anything in her life that bothered her though. Of course Sunny had habits that bugged Kae to no end, as she probably had habits that bugged Sunny to no end, but you got over that. If you really loved someone, you put up with those little things because they were mostly the best person you’d ever been around. Though, for a good while, Sunny was far from the best person she’d ever been around. It had never made sense while Kaeila had hated the boy so much. All the excuses that ran through her mind were lame as shit, and maybe if they’d been pushed aside, all of this would’ve happened sooner. Though she would’ve been a bit young to have a child at 21 or 22, being in love was…amazing.
The best thing about being home was this. Mornings when they were all together, all comfortable and content, were perfect. Of course, they were all together on tour too. Kae did wonder how they were going to swing that once Austin started school. There was still time, though. he was only 2, which left them three years to figure something out…or get everything they needed to home school him. It wasn’t exactly the best thing for a child, in her opinion, but with their lifestyle it might’ve been the most logical thing. The child did need more interaction with other kids his age, though definitely not with people in general. He was always around people outside of his family. Kae and Sunny’s bandmates (which were very much like family), fans and other friends were always around. He had become a polite little boy, unless he wanted something. Austin got Sunny’s adorable looks, but Kae’s killer personality. They were quite a pair to inherit, and no doubt they’d get him both in and out of trouble.
Kaeila couldn’t help but laugh a little at Sunny’s statement. While nachos were very good, they weren’t the best, in her opinion. Of course, that had been his opinion, one she’d heard from him more times than she could count. Honestly, Kae believed that all you had to do was make Sunny a good plate of nachos and you had complete control over him. Not that she needed nachos to do that. “Oh really? I never knew you felt that way,” the brunette teased, grinning. To not have the fixings for nachos in their house, or on the tour bus, even, would be a sin in his eyes. Kae was sure of it. Her husband would go absolutely insane without the cheesy snack. If she could help it though, he’d never go without. Because she loved him, and if nachos made him happy, she’d keep them in stock. All Kae ever wanted, nowadays, anyway, was for her loved ones to be happy. Any way that could be accomplished, it would. Even if it meant doing or getting the stupidest or most insignificant thing. Whatever it took, Kaeila would do it, which was a vast improvement from her younger self.
Kae knew she’d look back on her life one day, but she figured it would just be to reflect on how awesome she was. Actually, it was opposite. Not completely, but mostly. The girl knew all the partying was stupid. All the alcohol was bad for her body, and definitely didn’t help her decisions, but, she had to admit, she’d had a good time. Most of the things that had happened were fun as hell, and it was likely the brunette would do them over if she could. Of course, minus so much alcohol. And the pot wasn’t such a good idea either, though it seemed to do less damage to the body. Smoking in general was a bad habit, because it killed your lungs. Kae didn’t want to end up with some problem from smoking that would inhibit her life in any way. She had to be there for her son and her husband. They all needed each other to keep everything in working order, whether they’d admit to it completely or not. Maybe temporarily Kae could do without Sunny or vice versa, but not in the long run. It just wouldn’t work, and Kae knew she’d have a mental breakdown without her rock. As cliché as it was to call your significant other that, it was extremely true.
She thought for a second; what was she in the mood for? Sometimes it was actually a big process, for some reason. Sure, Kae ate, but she wasn’t ever a huge eater. Nor was she a fast eater. At least not when there were large portions of food given to her. “Hmm.” Just as she’d said that, Sunny’s stomach growled yet again, sending their son into an adorable fit of giggles. The parents both smiled at the beautiful sound. Child’s laughter really was so great. As her thoughts moved back to food, her husband brought up an idea. The thought of sharing nachos with Sunny sounded good. They sounded like a good meal right now, and they’d surely be finished. “Oh, yes, so much fun. And so romantic,” Kaeila joked. That, of course, was her way of saying okay. That part about her hadn’t changed; sarcasm still heavily coated majority of her words. It just wasn’t as harsh anymore, sparing the feelings of many people she talked to.

some say i'm insane ,OTHERS SAY I'M DERANGED BUT THESE DAYS I WOULD RATHER DO NOTHING Though it was hard to forget about the little ball of sunshine in Sunny’s life (most puns intended), Austin was like a dull flickering of light compared to Kae. Sometimes, anyway. Like when Sunny and Kae were on dates, and Austin was at home with a sitter. Still, imagining a life without the boy in it was practically impossible to imagine. He was Sunny’s son, his one and only offspring (for the time being) and one of the biggest things that kept his connection with Kae in tact. Not even Sunny was sure how they’d stay together forever with as much as they saw each other, but when he started to think about things he didn’t like to think about that pertained to that one thought in general, he always forced himself to remember Sunny. As much as he did and always would love Kae, it was Austin that kept them together. It always had been, whether he’d been a part of their lives or not yet. Eventually, they would have ended up with Austin, and in any case he was their link that kept them as close as they were.
Still though, Kae was….for lack of a less cheesy term, the queen of his life. She shone as bright as the sun to Sunny (wow so many Sun puns right now!), and to him she was everything. His first real love. The girl that had aggravated him to no end, but somehow he’d been so strongly attracted to her he’d discovered a new part of himself. She was his wife, and the mother of his child, as well as his best friend and band mate. She would forever be the one girl that ever really made him crazy but crazy in love at the same time. Just being around her made his whole day, week, month, year, whatever time period you could think of that belonged to Sunny a million times better than it would be without her in it. Like with Austin, it was practically impossible to imagine his life without Kae. He couldn’t imagine keeping Laruen as the singer in For The Win; he couldn’t imagine running around after any other drunkard girl with a tendency to get reckless at parties; he couldn’t imagine running off to Vegas with any other girl and getting eloped to anyone else but Kae. His life….well, it was pretty much nothing with out her.
That was precisely why he loved it when she agreed to share anything with him. When they were younger (not too much younger, but young enough for there to have been a significant difference in their personalities), it was a rare occasion that Sunny and Kae would agree on anything, let alone share something. The most they shared was space on a stage and a skinny, smelly bus that they didn’t always have to be in each other’s face on. But as they got closer, sharing was caring to them. They shared moments they’d never trade, shared booze and mistakes and vows and promises that they both intended to keep because one without the other was only half of a whole. It meant a lot to Sunny that Kae was willing to share his favorite food with him so early in the morning. It wasn’t so much of a surprise because, even since the day they’d met, Kae had just been one surprise after the next. By this time, Sunny sort of expected surprises, but that didn’t mean that he didn’t enjoy them. He did; especially in this situation where he got to spend time eating nachos with the love of his life and the most amazing son he could have ever asked for.
So Sunny smiled and put the chips on the kitchen table. He stood against the counter and waited for the microwave to ding, signaling the cheese to be ready to eat. When it finally did so, Sunny nearly jumped up to grab the hot container out of the microwave. At first, Sunny retracted his hand at the heat, but he was impatient and so he reached out to grab the can and managed not to burn himself. That was a feat within itself, since most of the time Sunny was just too impatient to care and ended up with his hand in the sink for a good ten minutes at the least. This time though, he was able to save his hand, then reach back in and savor the smell of melted cheese. He was so glad it was finally done; his stomach was currently driving his mind in circles and he really just wanted to stuff down chips and be a pig at it, too. However, Sunny was raised better than that, and so he wouldn’t….couldn’t if he tried.
He brought the cheese to the table instead and pulled out a chair for Kae before taking on himself, like he always did. Austin came over without being called for (though that made him sound like a servant instead of an infant), and Sunny smiled before picking his child up and putting him in his special seat. It wasn’t really special, but to try and move Austin from a high chair, now that he was tall enough thanks in large part to his father’s freakish genes, Kae and Sunny put a pillow on Austin’s chair and resorted to calling it the special chair. In any case, the family was all situated around a small, comfy little table in their spacious, comfy house with their delicious, comfy, familiar meal of nacho chips and cheese. “Bon appetite! “ Sunny said before taking a chip from the bag and scooping it into the cheese. He thought about it for a moment and realized how hot the cheese was, especially since he’d just woken up, and so he stood up again.
“Anyone thirsty?” he asked. He waited for answers before heading back over to the fridge to get himself some milk, since that was his favorite drink to go with cheese, then got what Kae and Austin (more so Kae than Austin, but still) had asked for, bringing all three cups carefully back to the table. When everything was settled again, Sunny happily went back to eating his chips and cheese, realizing he’d forgotten the salsa somewhere along the way. Either way, he didn’t care. He had cheese. He had chips. Salsa was a thing of the past at that point. To keep himself in the present, instead of backtracking to find the tomato-pepper dip, Sunny looked up at Kae and smiled again. He couldn’t help it; she was just……everything. Yeah, that word seemed right. Everything; Kaeila Rebekah Stoppable was everything to Sunny Stoppable. “This is totally romantic. Don’t even tell me it’s not, Kae,” he said in that playful manner he’d always managed to maintain. “I love you, you love me, I love nachos, and we both love Austin. We’ve got everything right here so…how is this not romantic?” Of course he was joking, but that was Sunny. That was just how he liked to eat breakfast.

I T ' S A C R A Z Y I D E A T H A T Y O U W E R Emade perfectly for me , Kae really did wonder a lot where she’d be if the chance to join For the Win never came up. If they’d kept that bitch Lauren (she still referred to her as that; after all, who would leave a band with such amazing people in it?), Kae would probably still be single, getting drunk and high, fucking whoever managed not to piss her off in the intoxicated state. It would really be sad, because her whole life would go on like that. Sunny was the only guy who’d ever been able to get through that armor Kae wore, and she didn’t think anyone else would be able to. And she’d die alone, drunk probably way before she was supposed to because of the drinking. Or, she’d feel so fucking sorry for herself in one of those intoxicated states that Kaeila would’ve just killed herself. Okay, that might’ve been a tad overdramatic, but knowing what she knew now, anything but this would be a fate worse than death. Contrary to what the girl believed when she first met Sunny, he made her happier than anyone before ever had.
Kae might’ve still acted like she was somewhat stubborn and strict, for lack of a better word, but she would do just about anything for Sunny. Even though her stubbornness was still a big part of her, if there was an argument between her and him, she would say she was wrong and drop it, even if she wasn’t. Though, not right away, of course. Kaeila was still going to stand up for herself, just in case Sunny decided to give in instead. They’d never had a fight, while together as a couple, that led to them not talking. Kae, at any point in the relationship, would take it too hard and be extremely upset. The brunette had never felt as strongly for someone as she did for Sunny, and ruining it, even temporarily, was something she was actually afraid of. She ruined a lot of other things in her life, and she didn’t want this to be one of them. To be honest, compared to her husband, her family didn’t even mean that much. Of course the girl cared about them, but Sunny was just…so great. Her family never really showed love like most, and to be loved felt amazing. It brought such a bond. These feelings in general were just so new to Kae, and she wanted to keep them.
Relationships were all about bonds though. Yeah, marriage was a huge one, but Kaeila was pretty sure the one that topped it all was finding out she was pregnant. It wasn’t a particularly bad thing, especially since they’d already been married, but she didn’t know how to feel about it. Sunny would be happy, that she knew. He loved kids. Her? Not so much. The girl didn’t hate them like earlier in her life, but she still wasn’t really fond of them. Kae wasn’t sure how to tell him, but, seeing as subtlety wasn’t such a strong point with her, she basically just sat him down and told him flat-out. There was no “well, honey, you remember last month when…” or anything like that. She just said it. And the look on his face, indescribable joy, it just told her what to do. It only took a second. The baby was staying, and she’d love it unconditionally. It hadn’t ever been a though in her mind to get an abortion or anything, but Kae had literally not known what to do. If Sunny wanted the child though, he’d get it. The brunette would carry the baby to term and give it a loving home. Though it was difficult, and Kae often cursed Sunny for doing this to her (especially during the delivery; he probably cried, but she couldn’t remember), it was one of the best decisions she’d ever made in her life.
Her eyes followed Sunny as he hastily went to the microwave, nearly burning his hand on the cheese. Kae couldn’t help but laugh softly and shake her head a little. It was shocking because he usually didn’t decide to wait a second, and more often than not she’d hear an exclamation of pain before walking in the kitchen, seeing him tending to the hand he’d hurt due to his hunger. It probably wasn’t a good thing for Austin to see either. Though it obviously wasn’t on purpose, Austin would probably be a tad careless when it came to dealing with food straight out of the microwave. So Kae had her hands full, at least she would in the future, anyway. She could actually picture it, both of the men in her life sitting at the kitchen table with ice on their hands, or both at the kitchen sink with their hands under the faucet. Great thing to look forward to, right?
Right now though, all of them were going to be sitting at the table, enjoying one of the best breakfasts a family could have. “Why thank you,” Kae spoke with a grin as she sat in the chair Sunny pulled out for her. As soon as Austin was seated in his special seat, the puzzle was complete. The scene was perfect in every way. The only thing they needed now was to start chowing down, but Kae knew better. If Sunny almost burned his hand taking it out of the microwave, waiting a few minutes to eat it would be beneficial. “Yeah, I’m gonna wait a minute,” she replied with a smile just in time to see her husband start eating the burning hot food. He, obviously, hadn’t thought of how hot it could be. Understandable though, since he was hungry. And the food was nachos, something he couldn’t refuse even if he tried.
Almost as quickly as Sunny had realized he was hungry, Kae realized she was thirsty. She hadn’t had anything to drink all morning yet, and she had been awake quite a few hours. “Yeah, definitely. I’ll have whatever you’re having.” It was still relatively new to her to use that phrase in reference to something other than alcohol. And alcohol this early in the morning was no long appealing to her. Nachos, however, were. So Kae took a chip and dipped it into the cheese, finding it to be just right in terms of temperature. She still took a drink out of the cup Sunny brought back for her though. Milk and nachos were a good combination, only introduced to her because of Sunny. Kae had only really started eating nachos a lot because of him anyway. With a grin, the girl nodded. “Oh, of course! How could I have been so blind? All the love in this room, it’s almost too much to take.” Even if the brunette was teasing, it really was such a great way to begin the day. For once, family didn’t drive her crazy. Kaeila couldn’t get enough of her small family, and it was great.

some say i'm insane ,OTHERS SAY I'M DERANGED BUT THESE DAYS I WOULD RATHER DO NOTHING Sunny could remember once, when he was really little, that his mother insisted that he was going to find a girl just like her to settle down with. Oh, how wrong she was. Mrs. Stoppable didn’t even really know how wrong she was, but to some extent she did. First of all, while Kae couldn’t have pictured herself (nor could Sunny) getting married in a big, white chapel with loads of people she hardly cared about (or getting married at all, as she’d told Sunny more than once before), Mrs. Stoppable would have never approved of Sunny eloping if he’d told her he was doing so before actually going with it. Second of all, Mrs. Stoppable was nowhere near as blunt as Kae was. Sunny’s wife was blunt to a fault, telling everything the way she saw it (more so in a softer, less abrasive manner than a few years back, but still she was brutally honest); his mother, however, held in secrets and told lies if she thought she was going to hurt someone’s feelings. And third, but definitely not finally, Kae was a singer. His mother had never been too big on music, much less on modern music. Mrs. Stoppable, unlike Kae, was the type of woman that really only turned on Motzart when she was pregnant or stressed out; Kae jammed out to her own beat, let alone her own music, practically since the day she was born (Sunny knew that better than anyone practically).
To be blatantly honest, Sunny was extremely happy he hadn’t settled for someone just like his mom. He would have been terribly bored to tears, possibly mentally tortured by a lack of fun and spontaneity, and honestly, he wouldn’t have stuck around with a girl like that. For the first time in his life, though it had never really happened, he might have been extremely tempted, and actually carried out the possibility of cheating. However, since he had never cheated and only ever really been in love with Kae, he was thankful she was his wife and not someone just like the woman that gave him life. He would have turned out to be a good-for-nothing scum bag, he was sure of it, without Kae. So, in retrospect, there was no one else he’d rather share his life, experiences, son, and nachos with. Not that he thought about this too often, but when he did he always ended up smiling; not because he thought about being with other women, but because he knew he’d chosen the right girl just for him. Of course, she’d been a girl when they’d first met; now Kae was a woman to Sunny. She was more mature, she was the mother of Austin (their son but we already knew that), and she was his wife – even if it was still kind of awkward to say that. Wife was just such a formal word for him; Sunny just preferred to say that Kae was the woman he was married to. It seemed more relaxed, more Sunny in a way.
But back to the now, all Sunny had to thank anyone for was what he was looking at. He had his son to his right, “the woman he was married to” on his left, and nachos between the three of them. That was all he needed; if FTW broke up and separated later that day, Sunny would ultimately be okay. He didn’t really want the band to break up, but the thought was the same. As long as he had Kae and Austin, and nachos of course, nothing could really go wrong in his life. He’d seen that movie, The Pursuit of Happyness once, and so he knew how hard and horrible things could get once a family fell apart; because of that, he was never going to let his family fall apart. Family meant too much to him to let that happen; he knew it was the same for Kae. When you had a family as awesome as they had, there was nothing more or less one could need, and they would manage to somehow keep things the way they were meant to be.
“Hate to say I told you so,” he said. Sunny took a chip, dipped it in the cheese, and shoved it in his mouth. Sometimes eating nachos reminded him of his childhood (especially of his old pet naked mole rat that enjoyed nachos almost as much as he did); but right now it was all about making memories. So he took another chip as he chewed on the one he’d just taken, dipped the new chip in cheese, and handed it carefully, cheesed-side-up to Austin. “Hurry and eat it before the cheese gets everywhere!” He knew his son wouldn’t listen at all; he was too much like his mother to do that. Austin would rather have a messy breakfast than a clean one, and Sunny would just go around and clean it up later. And, as predicted by his father, Austin let the cheese get all over his little fingers before he laughed almost maniacally. Sunny, in all of his good humor, just chuckled and rolled his eyes before taking another chip and staring the whole rotation over.
He looked at Kae with the chip in his hand, covered in cheese at this point, and smiled again. “But I told you so, Kae.” He chuckled again and shoved the chip into his mouth, licking the cheese off of his face. He kept going with this rotation for a few chips before getting up again to pick up some napkins and cleaning wipes, taking one out of the box to turn to Austin. “You’re a messy little fu- I mean, boy! I totally was going to say messy little boy!” Sunny looked under one of his long, bony, extended arms at Kae to make sure she didn’t look like she wanted to kill him for nearly cursing in front of their two-year-old. When he was content with the glance he was being given, Sunny turned his attention back to wiping up his son’s hands. “You’re just like your mommy – reckless and all over the place.” Again, he turned to look at Kae, and with her glance then he put the wipe down, turned to her, kissed her cheek and said, “Just kidding. Love you,” before taking another chip for himself.
He winked at Kae, and for the first time that morning was actually not thinking about nachos.
