They decided to keep the child, who is now known as Jordan Andrew Dredd. He was a pretty average child, wasn't really into any sports, had some musical talent and wasn't then best in school. However, he did excel in areas such as auto-mechanics and woodworking; basically anything that had to do with his hands.

His father was a mechanic and his mother was in the army, as a result they moved around a lot and did not have a lot of money to spare. With his mother and father apart so much Jordan never got to see what a functioning relationship was, which is the cause of his relationship phobia today. Also, his mother cheated on his father, also a negative factor. As a result they divorced when Jordan was twelve and thus far has lived with his father in Los Angeles
