THE RULES
IN CHARACTER
IN CHARACTER
• as soon as you have a name for your character, make that name your account's name. just do it.
• we're requiring that all names are to be at least three words long in all uppercase. example: FIRST MIDDLE LAST
• NOTE THAT ONLY STAFF MEMBER NAMES MAY HAVE ANY EXTRA CHARACTERS WITHIN THE DISPLAY NAMES. anyone not a staff member with such will have their accounts modified without notice.
• don't post anything except your reservation for a canon, face claim and your application until your character as been accepted! if anyone from the staff find you have, we'll delete the post the first time around, delete your account the second time, and ban you the third time. three strikes and you're out, kid.
• no one liners.
• there does happen to be a word count, and we'd like everyone to stick to it. can we all handle three hundred words? it's average, honestly, and if you can't write at least three hundred than please don't waste your time joining.
• no chatspeak, unless using the chatbox. obviously; when have you ever role played where chatspeak was okay? iF yOu TyPe LyKe DiS, i WiLl bAn YoU. kapeesh?
• godmoding is annoying. you don't control my character because i do, so don't act like you do. staff will be at bay waiting for reports of "illegal godmoding", so be aware that you will get caught if you're going against this rule. however, possibly just leading another character into the next room is acceptable.
• i'm a fucking potty mouth. therefore, this site is rated the highest you can get without breaking the proboards TOS; let's just call that PG-13 since that's the TOS. that being said, sex, drugs, substance abuse, and foul language will not be counted against in threads however you have to be very careful about how you write these things. if they don't put it in PG-13 movies, don't put it in your threads.
• CLAIMS CLAIMS CLAIMS! wow, are they important or what?! you must make these. otherwise, you'll lose your face claim, your sanity and very possibly your character. staff aren't babysitters most of the time and for the most part, won't make a claim for you.
• keep to the laws and rules set in california, as close as you can please. since we take place in cali, that's where we're keeping the rules set for.
• i'm not going to say anything against an OOC post in a thread that's supposed to be in character. please specify between the two posts though with OOC: textextext, parenthesis, or brackets (unless of course you use a template that allows for notes and such)!
• plots for your character don't have to fit those of the characters in the movie. do whatever you want with your character! personality is a different story on a level or two though.
OUT OF CHARACTER
• keep in character drama and relationships where they belong: in character.
• i don't care what you say out of character, unless of course it's offensive to the other members. you don't know them, so you have nothing bad to say about them. keep this saying in mind at all times when not in character: if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
• advertisements go in the advertisements board, and nowhere else. ff found anywhere else, the first offense will be the ad deleted. the second offense will be your account deleted, and the third will land you with a ban from the site.
GENERAL
• R-E-S-P-E-C-T. ti's a golden word, and you will respect yourself, the admins, and the members here. if you don't you will be banned, and that's a promise.
• be sure to let us know of any absences you're going to have. if your family is going away on a vacation, we want to know when and for how long, that way your account won't be deleted if we happen to have an activity check around that time!
• be active and stay active. just replying to an activity thread will not ensure your safety around here. you actually have to post if you want to keep your character as well as your account.
• have fun. that's the biggest thing here; we all want to have fun role playing, but fun in a role play is a team effort. be a team player, not a poor sport.
• GRAPHICS: avatars should never get any wider than 160 px but they can be as long as 300 px. signatures: if you have a wide avatar (like more than 120 in width), the sig shouldn't be any wider than 450 px. if you have a smaller width avatar (like 120 px and smaller), you can have up to 500 px in your sig's width. you MUST have your face claim in either your av or sig at all times.
APPLYING
• your character's name does not have to actually resemble the canon character's name. for example, if you take up mulan, her name does not have to be mulan.
• you can switch up some genders. if your character is a secondary (i.e. panic & pain from hercules; not main characters), you can chose whatever gender you want for them
• face claims don't always have to look exactly like your character. you can switch it up a bit.
• please do not alter any of the coding in the application. though the staff may not have made it themselves, we take pride in being able to use and modify it without removing the credit, which you shouldn't do either.
• RESERVE, RESERVE, RESERVE! if you don't, your character and face could be passed up while you're away. fair is fair, and all is fair in applying and war. ;)
